Knowing when to stop is sometimes difficult for those of us who enjoy evenings of handwork...especially if the next project is yet to be ready for hand work! However, after more thought, I called this piece finished....well...almost finished....
A few more embroidery details were added, the edges were trimmed and blanket stitching was added to secure the backing in place. But wait......it needed something....hummmm....what do you suppose that is? Of course, you guessed it.....I added a seed bead between every other stitch along the edges. It's amazing how that little extra helped to visually frame the quilt!

Lovely - and the color combo is just fabulous. You were right about the beads on the edge; I'm always thrilled about the difference little things can make ...
Love the piece and the richness of the colors... Beautifully done!!
How true you are of not wanting to stop hand work on a piece! Sometime, I have to reason myself... ;-) I try always have a new piece waiting in line.
Your wool quilt is beautiful and I agree about the "frame" made by the beads. They complete the look.
This really is very serene, nice piece.
Those colors really do work well together. And I like the addition of the seed beads, too.
What a clever addition to the blanket stitching. A very pretty piece. Quiet with gentle movement, a little like the coming of spring.
lovely variation in the leaf decoration.
