It's difficult to say goodbye to summer......but of course fall is here already. As I traveled down our mountain today, on my way to the Asheville Quilters Guild's monthly meeting....I was struck by this scene.
Tobacco continues to be a major crop here in North Carolina.....and in our area, it's grown and harvested the old fashioned way.....by hand. If you look closely, you can see the field hands following the tractor as they toss the dried bundles onto the trailer.
