PACKING MY BAGS

Tomorrow I head out to the Forsyth Quilters Guild in Winston-Salem, NC.  Gosh....it will be nice to have an opportunity to get acquainted with more NC quilters.

The lecture I'll be presenting Monday night is "Wool Collage - What's Old is New Again."  It's based on my newest book "Embellishing with Felted Wool"....which you'll see on the right side info bar of this blog.

I've been focusing on felted wool for about 3 years now......and am pretty smitten with it.  I love that the edges don't have to be finished.....allowing me to 'bead applique' (securing motifs with beads) rather than utilizing hand or machine blanket or decorative stitches.  Though, I incorporated those methods as well.  Projects translate well with traditional and contemporary designs.....as you can see below.

I agree. The artsy lines are pretty cool. I'll see you tonight at the guild meeting. Look forward to meeting you in person.
