UTTER FAILURE

When I was on my whirlwind of organizing every square inch of our house the first two weeks of lock down, I came across this 4 patch king size quilt top.  Well...it was actually going to be turned into a duvet cover but I ended up changing my mind.  I just didn't want to deal with lining it and then quilting the layers together, followed by a duvet backing.
So....there it sat in my fabric closet for years.  I toyed with making a charity quilt from it, but again...quilting a king size quilt....no thanks!!  So I removed one row.
.....And sub-cut the squares, and stitched these two 14" x 21" sections.  Silly me, I actually had a few appliqué design ideas to feature on these pieces.  Well.....after wasting another full day trying to make something work.....I gave up!  Something I RARELY do.

I may divide the master quilt top into small pieces and share with anyone wanting to finish them for charity....it won't be me.  I'm sick of looking at them!!    Truly I can only think of a half dozen projects in 30+ years that I ditched....this will be one and I'm perfectly okay with that decision.

I applaud your decision! You may have inspired me to do the same for a couple of things!

Sometimes you just have to give up and move on. There are too many fun projects to do. Put them on ebay, someone will take them and pay the shipping.

Thanks for the suggestion Carole......I'm going to do something positive.....turn it over to the guild's charity committee.....someone will surely be happy to have it to finish.....many quilters like the finishing and be happy they didn't have to cut and stitch all those squares!!

You have a good start, and a clever thought to cut the squares down. I'm sure someone will be happy to finish it for a donation quilt, or even eBay for their own project. I think it has such a nice vintage feel, and two-color quilts can be so effective.

I've had experience selling on Facebook's Market Place and just did my first Ebay.......selling an antique non-quilt related item. What a lot of work and hassle...... I don't have the energy to do that now......but I may have to figure out how and get some quilts up for sale......I won't be able to continue paying rent with no sales.....so my enterprise may just disappear!
