FABRIC DILEMMA

Okay so I'm being stubborn......

Do you ever spend far too much time auditioning fabrics, trying to make what you have work, instead of purchasing what you know will?  Yup...that's me.  I've tried at least 8 different fabrics to use for this in-progress piece.....and can't make any of them work.

Maybe I'll go clean my toilets today instead!

I feel your pain! I have done that too many times to count. We can't believe that there is NOTHING in our stash that is just right. At least when I finally admit defeat, I don't have far to go to the quilt store. You have a distance to go-----but that also means an opportunity to blow it all off, go out to lunch, see something new and have a fun day! Better than cleaning toilets!

I am in the category of "use that stash!" but even with that bias I know that I do wind up at fabric stores looking for a better match with what I want. Why don't you look at it as an opportunity to check out the new fabrics on display. :) Love your blocks. Recognize some of those fabrics.

YES!! Don't we all do that? We promise ourselves that we won't buy anything until we use up the stash, but it is better to make a small purchase that makes the quilt perfect and help our shops stay in business.

Ha! You've struck a chord with all of us it seems. So much fabric on the shelves, how could there NOT be the right one? Oh well, a shopping trip is in order, and meantime the toilets will be clean.

Why do I enjoy when the "master" struggles with her fabric selections! HA HA In the end, you always create that masterpiece! So we'll all just go along on the ride while you struggle to create your next piece!

Oh Robbie.....you give me way too much credit.....I always shared this view with students when they were struggling......'keep in mind....if you make enough pieces, something is sure to work'......unshared was this thought - "and sometimes it gets harder'!! But if it easy all the time....I'd have lost interest.
