I'm like a thief, sneaking into the studio to steal a little time!
Overnight a lot of surface design ideas popped in the 'ole brain and I couldn't wait to apply some. Both baskets were made using altered National Nonwoven's Woolfelt.
The inside layer of this basket was mono-printed with acrylic paint, the outside was a failed ice-dyed experiment, but brought back to life by acid dyeing.

The baskets are beautiful, Mary! I especially like the first one. They're perfect to hold fabric scraps but would also be great in a bathroom.

What, no beads on these? ....especially the fern basket which I LOVE a lot! These are terribly clever my friend...
Wow! I'm amazed that ferns would come out looking that good printing with paint. When I try it they come out all blotchy - nicely done! What kind of paint did you use?
Mary answers......what kind of paint......just cheap acrylic paint from MIchael's......thinned a bit with water. The ferns were rather thick....end of season thick??? So that probably helped......
Two hours is not that long in the great continuum of how long a project can take--and you are getting great results!

Was a little on the fence about these baskets when reading your post showing the first effort but wow - I'd take that fern one in a minute! Got a kick out of your hubbie's suggestion to make lots for all the cheater glasses you leave around the house. :-)
