GREEN LEAF

After some mental back and forth....the decision was made to crop my design and I'm much more pleased with the piece.

My normal finishing method is to use a facing which provides a clean edge.  However, once previewed it became clear that the left side was too visually heavy.  A narrow double fold binding provided a better balance.

GREEN LEAF - 13.5" x 13"
Deconstructed screen printed cottons & batiks.
Appliqued & quilted by machine.

The cropping and the binding were both perfect decisions for this piece. I'm guessing it will sell quickly when tourists can safely roam the earth again!

Beautiful, Mary!!!! I never really noticed when or if I cropped a quilt but I'm now becoming more aware of it with Hilary's class...it certainly worked wonderful for this piece. Very, very cool!!!

I think I would have liked it either way. Really like the deconstruction. I was momentarily reminded of a beaded leaf you did, all with gold or copper bugle beads. I'll have to look it up to see how similar the shape is. At and rate, a really nice resolution.
