TECHNICOLOR WALL ART QUILT

You may have noticed....I changed the orientation of this quilt from vertical to horizontal.  I can't explain why I worked on it one way and decided it presented better hung differently.  That's one of the many reasons I love creating one-of-a-kind work......the quilt and I make the decisions.....not someone else!

TECHNICOLOR    21" X 21"
Hand-dyed cottons and batiks. Machine pieced and quilted.

Geez, it looks like a totally different quilt. You could have put it up not telling me and I would have thought, wow, Mary's really getting a lot of piecing done - here's another one! I can see why you like this orientation. It has a really different feel to it, kinda more stable or peaceful somehow. Really like it.

I like the way you have it hanging now. Very cool indeed.

I love the bold colors juxtaposed against the calm beiges. Looking good!

Feels like a departure from your more recent work. Very "modern" with the substantial neutral background and pop of color. Since the color stands out, and that is now on the horizontal, if does have a tranquil feel as others have noted.
