My last post reported about a 3"-6" snowfall, after a prediction of 1/2". Well....it kept snowing....and oh my it's beautiful...a real winter wonderland.
After refusing to join 'the husband' on our (now) twice daily 'forced march' yesterday, today I got all bundled up and with walking stick in hand, we headed out. It was slow going in the deep snow....being careful not to take a fall. You can just see one of the paths we walk on the right side of this picture. A little sad to disturb the unspoiled snow and we trooped along. This is the view from our back deck......oh ya....far more than 6" of snow fell.....but what a good reason to hunker down and finish quilting a new patchwork piece I've been playing with.
Check back for photos soon.

It is just beautiful! Made me remember a car trip a group of teachers was taking home from a conference. We were driving in very snowy conditions and the driver was understandably tense. One in the back seat kept saying how beautiful the snow was. Finally the driver snapped, "If you say how beautiful this is one more time while I'm driving in this mess, I'm putting you out." We all kept quiet about the beauty for the rest of the trip and she did a great job getting us home safely! Ha, ha. Memories. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
What a beautiful view!!! We've only got about 2"....I am impressed you walk in this! I'm a wimp! Won't even take the girls for a walk on the road! HA
You really did get walloped! Never occurred to me to use a walking stick while breaking through fresh snow. If this doesn't get you in the holiday spirit, not sure what will. :-)
Much more snow than we got, I'm very happy to say! I do hope that's the worst of it for you this winter. It's snowing here right now, so we may catch up. You will have a warm up waaaaay before we do, though! Walk carefully and enjoy that special hush of a snow covered landscape.
