NUMBERS FELT ACTIVITY BOOK - PART 2

Now that the felt pages (National Nonwoven Woolfelt) were prepared, the next step was to assemble them into book form.
"The husband' is quite the Amazon Prime shopper and he found this heavy duty grommet kit for me.  Unfortunately, it had been opened, retaped and was missing the cutting tool. Calls to the manufacturer for a replacement were disappointing.  They no longer make this item and do not have any parts to sell.  Harrumph!
So we had to order a different kit....this one had all the parts but there weren't enough grommets.  Well.....fancy that.....I had PLENTY of grommets from the first kit.

I made a cardboard template so when attaching the grommets, they'd all be properly spaced.  OH....and I practiced securing one on a piece of scrap felt before starting on the pages for the book.
That's when I was again reminded that my upper body strength is pitiful....perhaps because the heaviest things I pick up are needles or beads??  But after more than a few good wacks for each grommet.....I was able to secure all of them.
We also had to order book rings. They are 3 inches....which really look oddly too big, but in order to easily turn all the pages so they lay flat, 2" ones were simply too snug.
Here's the finished felt activity book.
The large numbers should make it easy for a 3 1/2 year old to follow as he learns to write them.  I love being a grandma.....

This is a great idea--one of the best uses of chalkboard fabric I've seen. This would be a great idea to submit to one of the gift idea magazines! Pick one that pays, though, not one that gives you 'exposure' !!!!!
