I still don't have much in the way of sewing projects to share because my fiber social life is deliciously busy right now! We do all love to gather and of course along with fiber...holiday food is in the spotlight.
So today I thought you might like to learn a little bit about Southern mountain living.....highlighting the often difficult to understand accents and word/phrase definitions. I must admit at times I still find myself staring at a local with a completely blank look on my face as I didn't understand a word they said! I'm sure they must feel the same way about my Wisconsin slang.
One VERY popular food stop here is the Waffle House. I've yet to set foot in one......hard to believe since they seem to be on every corner.....
So check this youtube out for some giggles and perhaps a bit of education....

Love the YouTube! My grandmother was from Kentucky and everyone called her "Sis"! She was SOUTHERN!! "Give me some sugar" she would say when we came to visit (a week each summer!)...Sugar was a kiss/hug! She was the best cook for sure! Loved her cobbler! And to listen to her talk was a hoot!
I went to a Waffle House once while visiting South Carolina a couple of years ago. It was... well, let's just say that when I came back I was telling some friends of mine about it - and they all looked at me with big eyes and said "You NEVER go to a Waffle House except at 2:00 in the morning when the bars close. And only then if you're under 30."
It did explain a lot, but I didn't know 'cuz we don't have them up here. ;)
Oh the Waffle House ... one of my favorite places to eat. I love their pecan waffles ... to die for. You gotta give them a try. We don't have them in the my State but when I visit Cincinnati each month to see GD#3 we hit the Waffle House. It's an adventure ... go for it.
