FEELS SO GOOD TO BE CREATING AGAIN!

I've been putting as many hours as my knees can handle standing......the reorganizing I did with my fabrics was worth it....made for slightly faster fabric selections for this big commission. But we all know there's really nothing fast about this process.

Some hand basting has been done and lots of pinning which I suspect will be an issue as I can feel the flannel is getting pinned at times too. Everything will be hand basted and then machine appliquéd. There will be lots of details, trees, clouds, 'smoke' from the mountains", textured grasses, etc. Then dense quilting....you know the routine......I easily have a month of work ahead of me.....if not more.
More smiling here these days.....thanks for hanging with me!

I have a 4x8 sheet also with flannel but I just have it leaning against the wall. You mentioned you hand yours on clips attached to the wall with? I have mine vertically 8 ft. Is that how you have your board? Years ago we lived in the mountains near Yosemite. I turned the two car garage area into my studio and had a rolling design wall built that was two sided. Worked great for classes or dividing the room in half for presentations. And of course a design wall. But like you, moved and down sized. But I took over the living room since there is a kitchen, dining with tv area all together. we all make do. Not doing art quilts right now, just using up scraps. Need to reduce my fabric stash. Love reading about you move and settling. Have not gotten back to writing my blog. Yet. Did find a nice group of quilters with the local senior center. It is life saving. Moved to Vegas where a couple of our Calif. kids now live. Big change but like the mountain desert and Mountain View’s. Thanks for being re-inspiring. Vivian Helena vivianhelena42@gmail.com.
