This was my inspiration.....just a simple fall leaf found fluttering about on the ground. It got me to thinking about how this one simple leaf had transformed from summer green, to fall yellow, and then to the dull browns of winter.

I absolutely love seeing how leaves change color thru the seasons. Your Maple Leaf art turned out brilliantly.
I didn't get around to checking your blog until after you resolved your issues with the maple leaf. You did exactly what I was thinking needed to be done - insert a strip of fabric between sections. The visual interruption was just what was needed.
As for the thread solution, I couldn't help but remember how much trouble I had finding a truly bright lime green thread for quilting a particular piece. Every green I had just faded into the background. My problem was the opposite of yours - I should have checked my embroidery floss stash! Now I think there are more of these lime green thread options than there used to be.
Love how this turned out, the sashing is super!
