PERHAPS NOT WORTH SAVING

SIGHING..... I've already spent a stupid amount of time on this piece.....obviously it's not finished.....hoping I can salvage it.

Frankly, I'm a bit embarrassed to share it.  However, my years of teaching confirmed my instinct......it's encouraging for others to know that everyone has design struggles from time to time.

Some pieces need time in isolation to decide what they will become. I have quite a few of those and they jump off the shelf when they are ready. NOT UFO's--just in time out!!

How big is it, Mary? The fabrics are so beautiful and fall leaf is appealing- keep thinking on it!

I see where you are going with this, interesting idea. I think it needs something unifying, like a gold thread veining that would cross all three panels?

Actually Carole.....it has vein stitching on it already.......perhaps the contrast wasn't as stand out as gold thread would have been......I'm considering this a work in progress or work headed to the circular file!

Nancy asked the size.......it's about 19" x 16". Wanted it longer but just didn't have enough of the ice-dyed blue that I wanted to use to make that happen.

I really like it and I firmly believe it is worth finishing. Just a thought, have you considered adding elongated beads along the vein to add seasonal sparkle?
