SUGGESTIONS NEEDED - NON SLIP RULERS

This question may benefit many of you readers. Some of my cutting rulers need replacing. I get inaccurate cuts because I can not seem to hang onto them while cutting.  Slipping is such an issue, despite working on a cutting mat.

I see ads from time to time about non-slip rulers.  Can anyone offer their results if you have one that works well.....perhaps also which ones NOT to buy.   I don't want to use those annoying stick on pads.....been there done that....they are a nuisance.

Thank you......

I exclusively use Omnigrid rules for a variety of reasons. You probably couldn't pay me to switch to something else. I tried the sandpaper dots (didn't like the way it blocked my view) and the rubber-like clear dots (too thick so could keep the edge of the ruler from pressing down on the fabric or if placed farther from the edge created rocking). I finally tried Omnigrid's Invis-grip and loved it. I immediately put it on the back of all my rulers. It's not foolproof in keeping a ruler from slipping, especially when making cuts along a long ruler, but so much better than nothing at all. And because it attach by clinging and not by adhesive, it is easy to remove should you need to. That would be my recommendation if you have not tried it yet.

I did this so many years ago that I was afraid this product might not still be available. But it is: http://tinyurl.com/yd9mzsgd

I use little pieces of clear Nexcare medical tape on my rulers. You can see through them, and the tape has little ridges on it that keep my rulers in place.

My friend gave me one of these for my BD this year! AND I love it! I even used it to cut paper and my grand daughters quilt. I told hubby I wanted to get at least one or two more. Do check them out....http://quiltersselect.com/products/Select-Tools/Select-Quilting-Rulers

Quilters Select rulers are definitely my favorite. The entire back of the ruler is a translucent non-slip surface and the marked lines are thick enough to see, but thin enough to allow for accuracy when lining up the edge of your fabric.
