THROUGH THE TREES

This little piece has been on and off my design wall for several months....I couldn't decide if it was finished or not.  But this week after the addition of hand embroidered foliage at the lower level and a resolution of how to finish the outside edges, I called it finished.
THROUGH THE TREES - 15" X 20"
Copper foiling on felted wool, machine appliqued, hand & machine embroidered.

I'm intrigued by the copper foiling. It's lovely. I've never had good luck with foiling...what adhesive did you use to get it to stick to wool? This piece is so appealing. All your hard work pays off with a beautiful result!

Mary replies to Kathy.......no adhesive at all.....I just used a warm iron and the darn stuff stuck. But I did notice some came off when I fused the tree trunks where the iron was reapplied....the foiling adhered to the press cloth...not in every area but some. However, I like the color difference that created which provided more depth.

Absolutely lovely with it's simplicity. I love that my eye is drawn into the background with the foiled areas, which then allows me to look around the piece. Thank you for sharing.
