Mornin' everyone......click here: Hand Quilting blog for your post of the day. It will lead you to Violette Severin's fabulous blog.

She does a remarkable job of incorporating outstanding posts, twice a week, featuring a variety of subjects. The links she provides on her site are incredibly numerous.....prepare for a long day of web surfing!

I'm flattered to be included in her Sunday blog (Jan. 16, 2011), where she interviewed me about my own blog. You'll want to check in often to read her interesting posts! (And I hope you find my interview interesting?!?)

Demolition Derby in Atlanta

We are over the moon......Aaron Rodgers who has been such a gentleman throughout the whole Brett Farve drama......has finally had his turn as he led the demolition derby in Atlanta....

Of course we aren't gloating.....just thrilled with the 48-21 win. The Falcons are a really good team who clearly had an off day to which we are grateful.

So now we await the result of the Chicago/Seattle game today. As much as we HATE the Bears.....and would love to see the Pack box them in again this year....there's so much history with these two teams, I'd prefer to play Seattle.....esp. since it will be an away game. We'll know later today...

Aaron doing what he does best......making plays happen!

In the early, early morning hours today.....Packer fans were waiting at the Green Bay airport for the return of their team...... AMAZING. I don't know if this practice is still going on......but when I was growing up, living about 45 mins. from Green Bay.......city residents would all put their porch lights on for the players to see as they flew over and back into to Green Bay. Cool!!

Heartwarming!

So....three cheers for our Green and Gold.....2 post season games down......2 more to go to a Super Bowl win. Say it along with me..........GO PACKERS!!!!

NOW WE WAIT..... GO PACKERS!

Yes.....of course you all know by now....I'm a die hard Packer fan......is this our year?? I sure hope so.....

My clothing gear is ready..... and our flag is hung....

We feel like we own a little piece of Lambeau Field. Several years ago as a Christmas present for 'the husband's' sister and family.....we purchased a 'brick' with their names which is on display at Lambeau. Here our nieces are showing it off....

There they are again...Lizzie and Jenna with Saint Vincent......enjoying some tailgating (done to the extreme in Green Bay) in the stadium parking lot.

Sister-in-law Ann Marie and nephew Jason are also .....in the spirit of game day....

Again...our nieces.....perhaps trying to keep warm with a beverage? We know that the entire state of Wisconsin will be at a stand still tonight as we all will be cheering America's team....the Green Bay Packers onto to victory over the Atlanta Falcons........

GOOOOOO PACKERS.......

Nali

We are still stranded up in our mountain valley.....even living in the Midwest all my life hasn't prepared me for this!!

I haven't been idle.......will be posting photos of my flop bread baking tomorrow......so disappointing......

So for now....here's another look at our Granddog, Nali.....she really LOVES the Xmas toy we gave her.....notice the pattern??

SIGH......

We continue in storm mode here in WNC.......got lulled into thinking we were out of that pattern yesterday when the sun came out for awhile. BUT....today, the wind is blowing so hard we worry about our house staying put, temperature is 17 degrees....plus snow....more & more snow. Which has definitely turned into a 4 letter word for me. We haven't been out of here since Friday.....and won't even try today as reports of black ice can not be ignored.

So, I'm turning to a happier subject.......our Grand dog Nali......who is loving her Christmas present from us.

Stay warm wherever you are......sounds like we aren't alone in our winter misery. But I'm going to use this time to roll up my sleeves and get some of my 'to-do' tasks crossed off.

STAR BRIGHT #2 - COMPLETED

Well.....with over a foot on the ground as of yesterday........we are now getting that BIG storm (another storm of the century) now. Snow is falling FAST.....they've upped the prediction to 9"-12" inches.....oh goodie.

However, I've been making good use of my time.....preparing kits for upcoming workshops and between nail biting last night watching the Packers WIN!!!...... I finished my newest woolfelt piece.

......here's a view of the piece after the 'border/sashing' beadwork was completed.

Next, the excess stabilizer was trimmed from the wrong side.....this step is used to eliminate the possibility of this material peaking out between the layers once the backing is added.

With the backing is in place these two pieces are trimmed square. Hand blanket stitching using 2 strands of embroidery floss will hold the layers together and provide a tidy edge.

Almost finished.

PACKERS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

PACKERS WIN......PACKERS WIN......PACKERS WIN.......

WHEW!!!!!

GO PACKERS!!!!!!!!!!

IT'S GAME DAY........I know from my years living there.......not a soul will be out on the streets during the game.....everyone will be glued to TV. As you can see......there no such thing as being too loyal to the Packers!!

My palms will be sweating, fingers crossed, heart beating.........we are pulling for the Green and Gold......as they face the Eagles in the NFL Wildcard game this afternoon.

And.....here's a snow report.....it's finally stopped. The sun is out but the temperature was ZERO this morning.......really rare here. We are bracing ourselves for the next storm which will be arriving sometime after midnight tonight - Tues morning. We are hearing totals could range from 4" - 12".......plus as it winds down....freezing rain could make matters worse. Hopefully our power will stay on.......it won't be pretty in this household if it doesn't!!

Now.....I need to go pray to St. Vincent:
Aaron Rodgers, who art in Lambeau, Hallowed be thine arm.
Thy bowl will come, it will be won, in Dallas as it was in Lambeau.
Give us this Sunday our weekly win and forgive the less-passers
as you will not let them pass against us.
Lead us not into frustration, but deliver us from Eagles.
For thine is the MVP, the best of the NFC,
and the glory of the Cheeseheads, now and forever.

Go get'em. Amen
