JAPANESE CIRCLES

Over the last couple of years, my work has leaned more and more toward a less cluttered vibe.  This piece was so uncluttered I kept trying to push more motifs into the design.

Thanks to the hand holding of Kathy Schmidt at https://quirksltd.wordpress.com the piece remained true to its original idea.

KING OF THE MARSH

Fitting in time to create a new project has been difficult since 'the husand' is still be doctoring and I too have endured a medical procedure.....but we Wisconsin folk are hardy and onward we march!!
I've been hanging onto this piece of ice-dyed silk noil....just waiting for the right design idea to develop.....Some auditioning took place and I was committed.
It was a rather lighter weave which required stabilizing, PLUS dense background stitching to provide body and visual depth.  (And oh ya...a lot of time at the machine!)
KING OF THE MARSH  -  25" x 17"
Now available in my online gallery shop
Artist ice-dyed silk noil & cottons, machine appliqued and quilted. Double fold binding of same silk noil material and fabric hanging sleeve attached.

DRAGON FLY

In response to inquiries about why I've been absent.......

"The husband" spent three days last week in ICU....undergoing a procedure to reset his heart and eliminate Afib. Details way too long, except to say he has not rallied. He was to have a nuclear stress test today but Dr. office cancelled...many roads in our area are still impassable due to our big snow/ice storm. Hoping they can reschedule him soon since he's experiencing shortness of breath and extreme tiredness.

Clearly I've been very distracted and attention has been diverted from sewing. However, I did finish up one small project that provided some welcome handwork to occupy my time during lots of sitting and waiting.

"DRAGON FLY - 13" X 13"
Available....shipping is doable.
Cotton batik, thread sketched, and hand embroidered. Wrapped on canvas frame and secured in black wood frame.
