VIEWS FROM HERITAGE PLACER VINEYARDS

Yes, I'm still sewing but unable to post about the current commission I'm working on. It's a birthday present for someone and the customer wants it private for now.

So instead I'll sharing some views from of this new part of the country we find ourselves living in.

Sunsets in particular are so different from anywhere I've ever lived.  This one was spectacular - almost eerie....like a view of Mars or molten lava.

And back down to earth.....before the sun was even up, yet again on our morning forced march, we passed cranes depositing cement for foundations in this super fast growing community.  Houses pop up almost overnight...not an exaggeration!  No wonder I'm so uncomfortable here after living most of my life in rural settings.

Beautiful sunsets. I think they plant house seeds in California and communities grow overnight. But I remember the days when California had many small farms, but sadly they were developed. When I lived in Northern CA I'd walk thru orchards to get to the local neighborhood shopping center. But being near family, to see grandchildren grow up and beautiful sunsets are worth the sacrifice of living in a rural area.

I have to say, western sunsets are pretty spectacular, although the ones you saw over your Blue Ridge Mountains were beautiful as well. My mind jumped ahead at the mention of cranes, thinking you'd spotted some in the park space you've describe and dumping? Oh, THAT kind of crane. Yuck. Well, you know they keep saying we need more housing . . . Really wish you could have found a more rural setting.

Those skies are just incredible. And I feel your pain- the subdivision where we are moving has nothing but building happening all around. Country mice- culture shock.
