The changes on the finished piece may not appear as if a lot went into it, yet it actually took considerable thought, auditioning and testing to find the appropriate construction process to add the three details that now connect the two pieces.
Once again this is an example of the complexity and joy of creating one-of-a-kind art quilts!

ReplyDeleteI agree, a perfect solution! Did you have to stiffen the bottom piece so that it hangs straight, without flopping?

ReplyDeleteNorma asked whether I had to stiffen the bottom section......no amazingly it wasn't necessary. It's only 5" long and quilted about every 1/2" so perhaps that's why.

ReplyDeleteNice save! I'm struck once again by how graceful your tree is. Adding the bottom back on with the gap bridged by a little more trunk and the extension of the vertical black strips works very well. I can tell you are glad you didn't give up on it. And so am I.
